Compassionate Care for the Aging Population

At the Lavender Policy Center, part of our mission is to ensure that the aging population receives the care, respect, and resources they deserve, fostering a sense of dignity, purpose, and connection in their later years. We believe that as people age, they should be supported and celebrated for the wisdom and experience they bring to our world. Whether it's providing assistance with daily needs, combating social isolation, dealing with grief, or ensuring access to essential services. We are here to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults.

Our Work

Through our comprehensive programs, we provide:

Social Connection

We combat the growing issue of social isolation in older adults by offering group activities, social events, and companionship programs. These initiatives create opportunities for seniors to connect with others, form meaningful friendships, and feel part of a vibrant community.

Health & Wellness Programs

Our wellness initiatives promote physical and mental well-being by offering technology navigation workshops, genetic and dental health screenings, nutrition education, and emotional support for seniors.

Resource Navigation

We understand that accessing services can be overwhelming, especially for those unfamiliar with available options. We provide guidance and resources to help seniors and their families navigate healthcare, housing, food, and financial support systems.

Problem Gambling Assistance/Prevention

A 2019 study published by the National Institute of Health reported a 10% prevalence of Gambling Disorders in older adults over the age of 50. Educational workshops and support groups are offered as part of programming for seniors to address the habitual circumstances that feed into Problem Gambling creating a roadmap to a more sustainable lifestyle.

Systematic Review

SNAP Application Assistance & Qualification Screening

At the Lavender Policy Center we provide workshops and one-on-one appointments for individuals and families seeking to access complex benefit systems online. Navigating Medicare applications, SNAP benefits, Eligibility criteria, and How to apply are all part of our inclusive programming.

Why It Matters

Seniors are frequently an overlooked population of aging citizens with limited resources who typically aren't prioritized by other organizations or focus groups. The aging population faces unique challenges that can often be overwhelming and isolating. Issues like mobility limitations, chronic health conditions and loneliness can affect the quality of life and mental health.

The Lavender Policy Center ensures that aging individuals are not forgotten but embraced with the care, love, and respect they deserve. Our programs offer more than just assistance; they offer a sense of belonging, comfort, and hope.
